Bal Arneson is an author, educator and passionate advocate for simple and healthy, Indian inspired cooking. Since September of 2009 Bal has been hosting a weekly cooking segment broadcast on Global Television in British Columbia. In July of 2010 her series Spice Goddess was launched on the Cooking Channel in the United States and then in the fall of 2010 it will premier on the Food Network in Canada . Her first cookbook Everyday Indian (published by Whitecap in 2009) is a best seller and her next cookbook is due out in the Fall of 2010. She is also a culinary correspondent for the National Post, one of Canada’s national newspapers. When she immigrated to Canada over 15 years ago, she did not speak English or have an education. Since that time, Bal has earned a Masters in Education, taught cooking classes and launched her own organic spice line. Bal lives in Vancouver, B.C. with her two children.
