Hello and welcome! I’m the CEO of Foodista and a passionate contributor to the website. Originally from New York City, I grew up with a love of variety in food and culture. That interest has only been enhanced over the years while living in and traveling throughout Mexico, Spain, Italy, and the United States. My first professional cooking experiences were in high school during summers at the Alpine Inn in the Catskill Mountains. Later I worked for Taste Catering in San Francisco during college at California State University. After a short stint in my "official" area of study, international business, I joined my first startup, Marsee Baking, Portland’s first all-scratch European style bakery. I left Marsee to go to the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, followed by over a decade in technology management at startups and major companies, including Microsoft and Amazon.com. During 7 years at Amazon, I developed the first Gourmet Food category, created IMDbPro.com, and most recently served as Vice President of their A9 search division. Foodista.com, my fifth startup, offers me the opportunity to combine lifelong loves of cooking and technology! I look forward to meeting you, if only online, and learning from your cooking knowledge and experiences. (http://www.foodista.com/)

I am the founder and VP of Editorial at Foodista.com, the online cooking encyclopedia everyone can edit. I'm passionate about all things food related. I grew up surrounded by food on both sides of my family. My paternal grandmother owned a diner for many years, and my maternal grandmother (mother of five daughters) was always found in the kitchen baking or whipping up garden-fresh tomato juice. My mother instilled in me the importance of healthy, wholesome eating and fed our family homemade soups, breads, and fresh carrot juice. Through my grandmothers, mother, and numerous travels overseas, I've developed my love of food. I honed my palate and taste for travel by hopping planes with my airline pilot father, spent nearly a year studying in Italy and traveling in Greece, and taught English in Tokyo for three years. My professional background is in traditional and online marketing, where I worked for companies such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, Nordstrom, and eBay.

Howdy, this is Colin, along with Barnaby and Sheri, I'm one of the founders of Foodista. As CTO, I’m responsible for all things zero and one. We’re doing some pretty cool things, I think, with structured data around food. Save room for dessert, we're just getting started. (http://www.foodista.com/)
