Sharon Tyler Herbst, dubbed the foremost writer of user-friendly food and drink reference works, is an award-winning author of sixteen books.  The New Food Lover’s Companion—broadly hailed as “A must for every cook’s library!”—made her reputation as a culinary powerhouse.  Emeril Lagasse, television’s hottest chef, chose it as his favorite food book for his American Library Association’s “READ” poster.  Numerous internet sites (including Condé Nast’s Epicurious, TV Food Network and Amazon.com) feature Food Lover’s Companion as their online dictionary.  Julia Child praised Sharon’s Food Lover’s Tiptionary as “An invaluable help for all!”  The Ultimate A-to-Z Bar Guide is in its fourteenth printing and was an instant bestseller.  Several TV quiz shows (including “Jeopardy”) cite Sharon’s books as references.  She’s also a food and travel journalist, as well as a spokesperson and consultant for national food and beverage companies.  Sharon is a media personality with myriad appearances on local and national radio and television shows including “Good Morning America” and “Today.” She’s a past president and eight-year board member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
